明命｜MING reads a birth moment and reflects what it carries. That work needs a small amount of personal data, and this page explains — plainly — what we collect, why, where it lives, and the choices you keep. We follow Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) as our baseline wherever you are.

What we collect

Birth details — the name you choose to give, date of birth, time of birth, and gender. These are the inputs your reading is derived from.
Someone else’s birth details — when you buy a Yearly Insights guide for a family member or friend, you enter their name, date of birth, time of birth and gender, and you confirm that they have agreed, or that they are your child. We keep these on your account only to draw their guide; we never contact them, and we never use their details for anything else. You can remove the person from your account at any time, and they can write to ming@mingming.life to have their details removed.
Account details — your email address, used to sign you in (magic link or Google) and nothing else. We never see or store a password.
Your reading — the chart and recognition lines we derive from your birth details, kept so your path is there when you return.
Kept lines — reflections you choose to write on Today, with the date they answer.
Usage signals — simple product events (a page viewed, a reading generated, an answer given in Ask) so we can tell what serves you and what doesn’t. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics scripts.

Why we collect it

One purpose: to generate your reading and keep it, and what you write beside it, safe for you. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we will never use your chart or reflections to profile you for anyone else’s benefit.

Where it lives

Your data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and served through Vercel (our hosting provider), encrypted in transit. Access controls ensure your reflections and reading are readable by your account alone. A convenience copy of your reading also lives in your own browser’s local storage, on your device, under your control. For Ask 明命 only, the reply is written by Anthropic’s AI — see below.

If you sign in with Google, Google shares only your email address with us under their sign-in service. We receive nothing else from your Google account.

When you buy a guide, the payment is handled by Stripe. Your card or PayNow details go to Stripe and never reach MING; we receive only what we need to open your guide — that you paid, for which guide, the amount and Stripe’s receipt reference. Stripe e-mails your receipt. See stripe.com/privacy.

When you enter your birth details or ask for a sign-in link, a Cloudflare Turnstile check runs in your browser to tell people from automated bots. For that check only, Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser and connection. It does not receive your birth details, and it is not used to identify you or for advertising.

Ask 明命 and AI

Ask 明命 answers your questions from your saved chart, and the reply is written by an AI model from Anthropic. To write each reply, 明命 sends Anthropic the facts its own engine has already worked out about your chart, together with your question. Your birth date, birth time, name and e-mail address are never sent.

明命 keeps no conversation and no memory of it. Your questions and the replies stay on your device for the length of the conversation and are not stored on our servers; nothing carries over to the next conversation.

How long we keep it

For as long as you keep your account. If you want your data corrected or deleted, write to us at ming@mingming.life and we will do it within 30 days — the whole account, or any part. An in-app deletion control is arriving; until it does, this address is the path, and it is read by a person.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete it — all through the same address. Under the PDPA you may also raise concerns with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission if we fall short.

Adults only

明命｜MING is designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and readings are not generated for birth dates under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page with a new effective date — in the same plain language.
