What 明命｜MING will not tell you
No event prediction. No date selection. No compatibility matching. No health verdicts. No remedies. No reading anyone who is not you.
None of this is coyness, and each refusal below carries its reason. They come down to one of two things: either the method does not contain the answer, or giving it would do more harm than good — and a product honest about the first has to be honest about the second.
It will not predict events
The most-wanted thing in this subject, so it goes first. 明命｜MING does not tell you what will happen or when — not the year you marry, not the outcome of the interview, not what Tuesday holds.
The reason is the method’s own shape, not modesty. A chart is fixed; time moves; and what the tradition actually reads is the interaction — what this decade emphasises in your chart, what this year asks of it. That is the terrain of a season, never the incidents on it, and it is genuinely useful the way a map is useful: it shows the ground, and you still choose the route. It will not pick your dates
Choosing wedding dates, opening dates, signing dates — 择日 — is a real and old practice, and in Singapore and Malaysia a commercially valuable one. 明命｜MING does not offer it.
The refusal is about posture, not difficulty. Date-selection issues verdicts on days; this product’s daily reading is a bearing on your day — what it leans on, what it asks — which is a different service with a different relationship to you. A verdict replaces your judgement; a bearing informs it.
It will not match you with anyone
No compatibility scores, no 合婚, no reading your partner, your child, your boss, or a famous person’s chart out of curiosity. Only your own chart exists in the product — there is no second chart to match against, by design.
The reason: a reading works by recognition — you check it against a life you know from the inside. Nobody can do that for another person, so a reading of someone who is not you invites exactly the over-reading this product exists to avoid. This is the category’s most viral mechanic, and it is declined with its cost understood.
It will not speak about your health
No diagnosis, no illness prediction, no organ warnings. The reading’s care surface frames areas worth looking after — rest, pacing, what depletes you — and it carries a standing line that it is not medical advice, because it is not.
Anything that feels like a health question belongs with a clinician, full stop.
It will not sell you a fix
No remedies. No 化解, no lucky colours prescribed against a “bad” year, no 拜太岁 scheduling, no crystals, no charms. This is the largest pool of demand in the whole category — much of the industry’s money is here — and it is declined entirely.
The reason sits one level deeper than the products: a remedy needs a verdict to fix, and the verdict is the part 明命｜MING does not issue. A clash is movement, not misfortune; a year asks something of you, which is not a sentence passed on you. Your zodiac year is a marker, not a verdict — when your Chinese year actually starts shows even the boundary most remedies are keyed to is widely misplaced.
It will not type your personality
No “Day Master personality” profiles, no ten-types-of-people. The market’s highest-volume English content is exactly this, and the method itself forbids it: nature is read from the whole chart in relation — what stands where, supported by what — never from one symbol. A single character is a word, not a sentence.
For the same reason there are no gendered doom-readings — none of the old 女命 frames where the same star means ambition in one chart and misfortune in another because of who is holding it. In this product, gender changes one computational input (the direction the decades run), and nothing about what a symbol is allowed to mean.
The quieter silences — what the engine itself declines
The refusals above are about you. There is a second list, about the machinery: classical concepts the engine deliberately leaves out or keeps on a short leash, each a recorded position rather than an accident. A few that practitioners will notice:
空亡 is shown but never argues — it appears as a marker and is never allowed to negate a root or flip a verdict. 纳音 never enters reasoning — it is display, not logic. Derived “virtual” characters (拱夹 · 暗合) are excluded outright, because characters that are not in the chart invite reading things into it. 小运 is excluded because the schools genuinely contradict each other on how to compute it, and a method that cannot be stated cleanly should not be run quietly. And the five-role 用神 vocabulary is deliberately collapsed to two states — an element helps this chart, or it does not.
The rule behind that list is written into the product’s own registry of exclusions, and it is the standard this page answers to: if a concept is absent from the engine and absent from the registry, that is a bug in the registry. What this page is not saying
Not that everyone offering these is a fraud. 择日 and 合婚 are real practices with real traditions behind them. These are statements about what this product is for — recognition — not a judgement passed on practitioners.
Not that the questions are wrong to ask. When to marry, whether a year will be kind — these are human questions. The refusal is to pretend the chart answers them, not to sneer at the asking.
Not a disclaimer dressed as principle. Each refusal above is a method position with a reason you can argue with — and several are named openly as costing real demand, which a liability notice would never volunteer.
Why refuse so much — and what is left
The tradition itself drew the boundary, in the ordering this section keeps returning to: 一命二运三风水，四积阴德五读书. A chart speaks to nature and season — the first two — and much of what is refused above belongs to the other three, which were always yours: where you stand, what you do, what you learn.
What is left after all the refusals is the whole product: your nature, read from the whole chart and written so you can argue with it; your seasons, read as terrain; your days, read as direction. 明其命 — know your nature. 尽其力 — give your best. 顺其时 — move with your season. Everything this page declines to promise is the reason those three can be trusted.

- No. It does not select dates or predict events. What it reads is how your chart meets a period of time — the terrain of a season, not the incidents on it — and the decision stays yours.
- Can it read my partner's chart, or check our compatibility?
- No. Only your own chart exists in the product — no second chart, no matching, no reading anyone who is not you. A reading is for recognising yourself, and another person cannot be recognised on your behalf.
- Can it tell me how to fix a bad year — remedies, colours, 拜太岁?
- No, twice over. It does not sell remedies, and it does not issue the verdict the remedy is supposed to fix. A year asks things of you; that is not the same as a sentence passed on you.
- Why refuse things people clearly want?
- Because either the method does not contain them, or offering them does harm — and a product that answers everything is telling you about the product, not the method. Each refusal here carries its reason; the ones that cost the most business are named as costing it.
